Traveling Concrete Foreman

About the role
As an ARCO/Murray Foreman, you will manage field operations for your project from day one. Our goal is to empower you in the field and provide you and your project team with all the tools needed to complete your project on schedule, within budget, and according to specifications.
Responsibilities
- Assure that adequate manpower is provided as required to meet construction schedules.
- Analyze construction equipment requirements and provide necessary equipment to utilize manpower efficiently; release equipment when not required.
- Determine job requirement quantities for each phase of work.
- Direct and supervise the activities of carpenters and laborers in the performance of their regular duties.
- Determine and convey to subordinates the most efficient construction techniques to ensure quality and efficiency.
- Assist the project manager/engineer with duties including prompt shipment of materials and permanent equipment, obtaining approvals of shop drawings and material samples, and preparing/submitting change orders.
- Direct all subordinates in supplying required accounting data, conforming to company accounting and administrative procedures.
- Inform all supervisors promptly of any construction schedule changes.
- Cooperate with the general contractor and representatives, keeping them informed of construction progress.
- Report regularly to the project manager on job progress, plans, and problems that could significantly affect costs or schedules.
- Direct adherence to the company’s safety program in all phases and areas of the project.
- Become familiar with all company policies, adhere strictly to them, and ensure all employees conform to them.
- Carry out additional responsibilities assigned by the project manager.
Working Conditions
The majority of work is completed on job sites in an office trailer or in an existing structure. Due to daily condition changes on construction projects, appropriate personal protective equipment is required when outside the office trailer or structure, as mandated by the company's safety policies and weather conditions.
Requirements
- 3-10 years of experience in self-performing concrete crew.
- Able to make decisions under tight deadlines.
- Able to organize people, tools, and equipment and plan/manage multiple activities to accomplish desired results.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability and willingness to face challenges, direct others, and effectively address conflict.
- Act with integrity, supporting the company, its values, and employees while maintaining focus on meeting or exceeding customer requirements and expectations.
