About the role

American Traveler is seeking a travel Radiology Technician for a 13-week assignment in New Orleans, Louisiana. The position starts on August 19, 2026, and works 36 hours per week, 12 hours per shift, nights.

Responsibilities

  • Perform bedside/portable procedures and C-arm procedures
  • Work in various departments including adult acute care, adult outpatient, emergency department, ICU, operating room, and pediatric acute care areas
  • Handle patient ratios of 1:1
  • Follow a 7-on/7-off rotation with a schedule of 6 12-hour night shifts and 1 8-hour night shift on Wednesdays, Thursdays, or Fridays
  • Schedule includes every third weekend off
  • No on-call requirement
  • May float to other areas
  • Use GE and Philips imaging equipment and Epic EMR

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of experience as a Radiology Technician
  • Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • BLS certification
  • LSRT license if applicable
  • C-arm and trauma experience
  • Epic charting experience
  • Experience with abdominal, chest, spine, pelvis, upper and lower extremity, and head imaging studies
  • Fluoroscopy study experience, including arthrography, barium swallow, contrast enema, ERCP, and myelography
  • Knowledge of infection prevention, isolation precautions, PPE, and radiation safety
  • Experience with preparation and/or administration of contrast media

Schedule

Shifts are 12 hours, nights, with a 7-on/7-off rotation, including 6 12-hour night shifts and 1 8-hour night shift on Wednesdays, Thursdays, or Fridays. Weekends are every third weekend off.

Qualifications

Must have a teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II experience.

Skills

Knowledge of infection prevention, isolation precautions, PPE, and radiation safety.
