Travel - Wind Service Technician Level 2
About the role
This role is designed for technicians who bring strong technical capability, lead by example in the field, and want to be part of a team known for disciplined execution, safety leadership, and professional growth across utility-scale wind projects. This is a 100% travel position supporting maintenance, repair, and installation scopes across multiple turbine platforms.
Responsibilities
- Perform LOTO procedures for multi-brand wind turbines in support of blade or mechanical/electrical service operations
- Conduct inspections, maintenance and repair of equipment
- Climb a wind turbine vertically at least 300 feet
- Lift and move equipment as needed (up to 50 pounds)
- Follow specific verbal and written instructions to perform multi-brand wind turbine generator and associated equipment assembly, repair, replacement and maintenance
- Complete and maintain required company and client documentation
- Effectively prioritize and escalate technical issues to clients and supporting functions
- Clean and organize tools, equipment, and work areas as required
- Operate a motor vehicle safely and legally per the Sky Climber Renewables Employee Handbook and insurance requirements (eg. Valid License, acceptable driving record)
- Be exposed to high and low ambient temperatures while working outdoors
- Maintain required training certifications for position held, including, not limited to: OSHA 10, NFPA 70E, CPR/AED, First Aid, Basic Safety, Basic Technical, Advanced Rescue
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum one (1) years of technical wind industry experience and completion of a Wind Technician training program, OR one (1) years of hands-on experience in hydraulic, electrical, or mechanical industrial environments
- Advanced troubleshooting capability with the ability to interpret schematics and train others
- Demonstrated proficiency with complex tools such as hydraulic rams, inductive heaters, and advanced diagnostic equipment
- Strong working knowledge of industrial safety practices, including energy isolation and risk mitigation
- Basic computer skills, including navigation of web-based systems and technical documentation
- Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly in English
Physical & Travel Requirements
- Ability to travel 100% and work overtime, including variable schedules, as project demands require
- Ability to climb ladders and stairs 60–125 meters in height
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry items up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand, stoop, kneel, and bend for extended periods
- Weight restriction of 260 lbs, required to ensure safe use of weight-rated equipment
Employment Conditions

- Ability to obtain and maintain a passport
- Must pass background check and drug screening
- Must be 18 years of age or older
