Travel Vascular Sonographer - $2,761 per week
About the role
Travel Vascular Sonographer / Ultrasound Technologist position in South Charleston, West Virginia. Immediate opening for a 13‑week assignment, 40 hours per week on 8‑hour evening shifts. The technologist operates ultrasound equipment to produce accurate images for physician interpretation, prepares and cares for patients undergoing ultrasound testing, and assists with ultrasound‑guided procedures.
Responsibilities
- Educate patients and/or patient's family regarding procedures performed
- Use sonographic equipment to identify and observe the area(s) of concern
- Prepare the exam room for examinations and assist Radiologists with ultrasound procedures and ultrasound‑guided biopsies
- Report any abnormalities that require immediate attention to the appropriate medical staff
- Maintain sonography equipment and report machinery failure
- Conduct scan tests and write reports based on the results
- Maintain accurate patient records
- Understand and use the McKesson PACS system
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist (note: some listings reference 2 years)
- BLS certification
- ARDMS National Certification (RDMS/RVT)
- State‑specific licensing where required
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lean, or stoop for extended periods
- Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology
- Additional certifications may be required before assignment start
