About the Role
An Ultrasound Technologist (US Tech) is responsible for operating ultrasound equipment, capturing accurate images for physician interpretation, and ensuring patient care and safety during procedures.
Responsibilities
- Educate patients and families about ultrasound procedures
- Operate sonographic equipment to identify areas of concern
- Prepare exam rooms and assist radiologists during ultrasounds and biopsies
- Report abnormalities promptly to medical staff
- Maintain and report issues with sonography equipment
- Conduct scans, document findings, and maintain patient records
- Utilize PACS systems for image management
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of ultrasound experience
- Certification: BLS, ARDMS, and relevant state licensing if required
- Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, and lean for extended periods
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology
- Additional certifications may be required prior to assignment
