About the Role

An Ultrasound Technologist (US Tech) is responsible for operating ultrasound equipment, capturing accurate images for physician interpretation, and ensuring patient care and safety during procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Educate patients and families about ultrasound procedures
  • Operate sonographic equipment to identify areas of concern
  • Prepare exam rooms and assist radiologists during ultrasounds and biopsies
  • Report abnormalities promptly to medical staff
  • Maintain and report issues with sonography equipment
  • Conduct scans, document findings, and maintain patient records
  • Utilize PACS systems for image management

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of ultrasound experience
  • Certification: BLS, ARDMS, and relevant state licensing if required
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, and lean for extended periods
  • Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology
  • Additional certifications may be required prior to assignment
