Travel Ultrasound Technologist - $2,372 per week

About the role

TotalMed Allied is seeking a travel Ultrasound Technologist for a 13-week assignment in Eureka, California. The position requires 40 hours per week, 8-hour shifts, and evening work. Applicants must have one year of experience, BLS certification, ARDMS national certification, and state-specific licensing if required.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients and/or patient's family regarding procedures performed
• Use sonographic equipment to identify and observe the area(s) of concern
• Prepare the exam room for examinations and assist Radiologists with ultrasound procedures and ultrasound-guided biopsies
• Report any abnormalities that require immediate attention to the appropriate medical staff
• Maintain sonography equipment and report machinery failure
• Conduct scan tests and write reports based on the results
• Maintain accurate patient records
• Understand and use the McKesson PACS system

Requirements

• Must have 1 year of experience
• Must have BLS, ARDMS National Certification, and state-specific licensing when required
• Should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean or stoop without difficulty
• Must have a sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology

Qualifications

• BLS, ARDMS, 2 Years
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment

Skills

• Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology
• Ability to use sonographic equipment
• Ability to prepare and care for patients undergoing ultrasound testing
• Ability to report abnormalities requiring immediate attention
• Ability to maintain accurate patient records

Pay

The pay package is based on 8 hour shifts and 40.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.

Schedule

The shift is 8 hours, evenings.
