Travel Trauma Med Surg Telemetry RN - $2,328 per week

About the Role

TotalMed is seeking a Medical Surgical RN for an immediate travel nurse opening in Sioux Falls, SD. This is a 13-week travel nursing position with 36 hours per week on 12-hour night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient assessments and prioritize data collection based on patients' immediate conditions or needs
• Perform ongoing assessments and appropriate treatments as ordered by a physician
• Document patient findings and provide education and support to patients' families
• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre- and post-op patients
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs
• Prepare equipment and aid physician during examination and treatment of patient
• Educate patients on surgical procedures
• Participate in discharge planning and initiate patient education plan as prescribed by physician

Requirements

• 1-2 years recent acute care experience
• BLS certification
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment

Physical Demands

• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
• Ability to bend, lean and stoop without difficulty
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds easily; moving or lifting patients may require lifting up to 50 pounds at times
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment treating patients that may be confused, agitated, and/or uncooperative
