About the Role
Join a fast-paced 23-bed Surgical Med-Surg unit caring for a diverse post-operative patient population, including Orthopedic, Spine, GI, and Bariatric cases. This high-volume unit has 10–20 post-op admissions daily and offers cardiac and O₂ monitoring capabilities. Float within your skill set as needed.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care for post-operative surgical patients, particularly in Orthopedic, Spine, GI, and Bariatric specialties.
- Monitor and manage patients using cardiac and O₂ monitoring equipment.
- Complete EKG exam during onboarding.
- Adapt to floating within your skill set as required by unit needs.
Requirements
- 2+ years of Med-Surg experience.
- Active Kentucky or Compact RN License (required at submission).
- BLS certification.
- Strong experience with post-op surgical patients, especially Orthopedic, Spine, GI, and Bariatric cases.
- First-time travelers considered with extensive post-op surgical experience.
Schedule
- 13-week contract.
- 36 hours per week.
- 12-hour day shifts: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM (3x12).
