Job Summary

Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) position is based in a fast-paced, acute care setting in Parkersburg, West Virginia. This role involves providing specialized telemetry services on a 12-hour night shift. The RN will assess and monitor patients with cardiovascular conditions, interpret strips, and administer set-rate medications such as Cardizem and Amiodarone, ensuring optimal patient care.

Job Details

  • Location: Parkersburg, WV 26101
  • Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, with scheduled weekends (Friday-Sunday) and potential holiday rotations.
  • All shifts are scheduled from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.

Required Qualifications

  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) both from the American Heart Association;
  • Minimum of 2 years clinical experience in telemetry or similar acute care setting;
  • Able to read electrocardiogram (ECG) strips;
  • Experience with set-rate Cardizem and Amiodarone;
  • Prior experience with TR Bands is a plus.

Additional Information

  • Must include a current, unexpired driver's license in submittals.
  • Unit operates with a nurse-to-patient ratio of approximately 1:6, with float requirements possibly extending to other hospital areas, including ICU and Stepdown units.
  • Charge nurses are on duty 24/7, with the night charge always taking patients.

  • Use of respiratory support devices like Bipap and Cpap (excluding High Flow)

Unit Characteristics

  • Busy and fast-paced, with potential for up to 6 patient discharges and admissions daily.
  • Orientation includes one day of computer training, one day shadowing, followed by independent practice.
  • Candidates must be able to work flexible weekends, with some requirement for holiday coverage, and may be floated as needed within their skillset.
  • Scrub attire is royal blue; scrub jackets are optional but permissible.
  • Time-off requests should be made upfront and included in prescreen notes.

Pay Package

The pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
