About the role

The Professional Staff Nurse is a Registered Nurse and a key member of the care delivery team. This role is pivotal in setting the standards for the level and quality of care provided to patients. The Professional Staff Nurse is accountable for managing and delivering patient care activities through independent judgment, effective communication, and collaboration with all team members.

Responsibilities

• Participate actively in departmental quality improvement efforts and identify opportunities for enhancing quality of care.
• Utilize evidence-based practices to support and improve clinical care, engaging in multidisciplinary discussions regarding patient care plans.
• Apply the nursing process within the framework of Relationship Based Care to create a therapeutic environment for patients.
• Demonstrate critical thinking while recognizing clinical, social, and psychological issues that may affect patient care.
• Communicate effectively with both caregivers and patients, ensuring comprehensive and precise documentation.
• Teach patients and families, providing resources and support to facilitate a smooth transition to different levels of care.
• Foster productive working relationships and demonstrate accountability and enthusiasm in patient interactions.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse (RN) License required; BSN preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), and compliance with PA Act 31, 33, 34, and 37.

Qualifications

This position involves a rotating shift with a commitment of 12-hour shifts, specifically three days per week. Assignment Duration This is a 13-week contract position.

Pay

The Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
