Travel Surgical ICU RN - $2,115 per week

Job Summary

The organization is seeking a Surgical Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse specializing in Intensive Care Unit Surgical care in Springfield, Illinois. This role involves providing advanced critical care for adult patients with complex neurological diagnoses, including stroke, hemorrhagic events, and post-surgical management. The selected candidate will deliver patient-centered care within a high-acuity, Level I trauma, acute care hospital environment.

Schedule

Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week, with a start date of 07/27/2026.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Illinois nursing license
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• At least 1 year of experience in an ICU setting with trauma level I experience preferred
• Experience with ICU-specific procedures such as EVD placement, arterial and central line management, ventilator management, and neuro assessments
• Familiarity with charting systems such as Cerner
• Prior experience in neurological or trauma units is highly desirable

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in neuro-intensive care and trauma ICU units
• Prior travel experience
• Strong skills in neuro assessment, management of invasive devices, and critical care procedures

Additional Information

• The role involves floating within the scope of ICU units as needed, working primarily with adult neurological and neurosurgical patients, and supporting interdisciplinary teams including respiratory, pharmacy, and radiology services
• Orientation includes 40 hours, with virtual completion on the first day
• The facility is a Level I trauma center with 562 beds and offers parking at no cost

Pay Package

The pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
