Sterile Processing Tech (Certified Sterile Processing Tech) in Baltimore, Maryland. Start date: 08/03/2026 for a 13-week travel assignment in a hospital setting. Responsibilities

  • Under direct supervision, care for, handle, and store instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary for surgery; process goods for redistribution throughout the medical center
  • Assist Sterile Processing Specialists with team lead duties, including maintaining competencies and supporting workflow
  • Decontaminate, assemble, package, sterilize, and label instrument trays and surgical supplies; ensure accurate traceability and proper storage
  • Maintain inventory controls, restock supplies, and ensure sterile items are ready for use across departments
  • Adhere to infection prevention, safety, and sterilization standards (e.g., HSPA/IAHCSMM guidelines); follow PPE and facility policy
  • Complete documentation and support ongoing competency checks; participate in required training and skill assessments

Requirements

  • Minimum 24 months of current Sterile Processing Technician/SPT experience
  • Active HSPA certification (IAHCSMM) for at least 2 years
  • COVID-19 vaccination required; declarations not accepted
  • Active American Heart Association BLS certification
  • Prior travel experience preferred; locals accepted
  • Submission requirements include: resume with gaps explained, 2 supervisory references (last 6 and last 12 months), skills checklist specific to Sterile Processing Technician/SPT, and SBAR/documentation pages as directed
