Requirements

  • Epic experience required
  • Must be comfortable caring for:
    • 6 Med/Surg patients
    • 3 Stepdown patients
  • Open to both new and experienced travel nurses who meet unit requirements
  • Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS
  • Patient Ratios: Stepdown: 1:3, Med/Surg: 1:6
  • Common Patient Population: Adult medical patients
  • Flex assignments between Med/Surg and Stepdown based on unit needs
  • Rx & Drip Experience: Manage and titrate drips including Heparin, Insulin, Anti-hypertensives, Antiarrhythmics, Phenobarbital, Ketamine, PCA infusions (Morphine, Dilaudid, Fentanyl), TPN
  • Respiratory Support: CPAP, BiPAP, High-Flow Oxygen, Ventilators (Stepdown only), Ventilator setting adjustments in ICU
  • Telemetry: Phillips telemetry monitoring system, Remote telemetry surveillance center, Central monitoring available on the unit
  • RNs are not required to independently interpret telemetry strips
  • Schedule: 12-hour shifts, Block scheduling may be requested but is not guaranteed
  • Weekend & Holiday Requirements: Most agency positions are weekend positions, Expected to work approximately half of the hospital-recognized holidays, May float to other Med/Surg and Stepdown units as needed, No call or standby requirement
  • Dress Code: Royal Blue and White scrubs (any combination)
