Requirements

• Strong Med/Surg Stepdown experience
• Ability to: Titrate cardiac drips
• Independently interpret telemetry strips
• Care for tracheostomy patients
• Manage BiPAP patients
• Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, Drips (Must Be Comfortable Titrating), Physician-ordered titration with defined parameters: Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dopamine, Nitroglycerin, Esmolol, Heparin, Lasix, No vasopressors on this unit. Telemetry RN must interpret and document cardiac rhythms every 4 hours (or more frequently when titrating medications).
• Support Staff: 1 Charge Nurse, 3 House Supervisors, 3–4 CNAs per shift
• Respiratory Support: BiPAP, Tracheostomy care, No ventilators
• Orientation: 3 unit orientation shifts
• Dress Code: Royal Blue scrubs
