Responsibilities

• Number of Beds – 15 beds
• Number of Staff – 22 (RN/PCT)
• Type of staff: Day Shift – 3‑4 RN, 2 PCT, 1 Clinical Coordinator; Night Shift – 3‑4 RN, 1 PCT
• Patient Ratios – 4‑5/1
• Type of equipment – Cardiac Telemetry, Chest tubes, Cardiac drips (NTG, Cardizem, Amiodarone), Post Cath Patients, post‑surgical patients to include open heart, lung patients, general surgery patients, post op orthopedic patients that require cardiac monitoring
• EMR – Meditech
• Typical procedures performed on unit(s):
  • Post cardiac cath, EP studies, device placements, groin management, chest tubes, post op surgical patients
  • Critical drips, epidurals, PCA
• Floating Area(s): ICU taking PCU type patients, PCU, Med‑surg (taking 5 patients)
