About the role

Step Down Unit Registered Nurse (RN) providing specialized care to patients with advanced cardiac conditions—heart failure, cardiomyopathy, and acute coronary syndrome—in a fast-paced 23-bed unit serving young adult through late adult patients (18–60+). The team includes RNs, LPNs, PCTs, and Nurse Interns; each RN assumes full responsibility for a patient team.

Responsibilities

• Care for patients with cardiac disorders such as heart failure, cardiomyopathy, acute coronary syndrome, and pre/post cardiac surgery.
• Float rotation may be required.

Requirements

• Valid Nursys License and Driver’s License/State ID.
• Completion of an Ascension Profile with two professional references and badge photo.
• Successful completion of a proctored rhythm test.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
• Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a cardiac or step-down care setting.

Pay

Pay package is based on 12-hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
