Travel Step-Down Unit Registered Nurse - $2,127 per week

About the Role

Malone Healthcare is seeking a Travel Nurse RN for a Stepdown position in Newburgh, Indiana. This is a 13-week travel assignment with a start date of 08/31/2026, requiring 36 hours per week on 12-hour shifts (days or nights).

Responsibilities

• Provide care for patients with conditions including:
  • Cardiac (post cath stents/interventions, pacers)
  • CIWA/BH
  • Sepsis
  • DKA
  • CVA
  • CPAP
  • Feeding tubes
  • Crani POD 2
  • GI bleeds
  • Hypothermic/bear hugger
• Perform telemetry and 12-lead EKG interpretation (travelers must pass tele tests)
• Initiate and titrate drips (e.g., antiarrhythmics, Heparin, Insulin)
• Conduct post-surgical assessments and care
• Perform NIHSS/neuro assessments and dysphagia screens
• Preferred skills (not required):
  • Care for stable home vents
  • Manage PleurX drain/pericardial drains, lumbar drains, VP shunts
  • Administer Narcan drips
• Demonstrate strong assessment, critical thinking, resilience, and adaptability to change

Requirements

• Current active compact RN license
• AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS certifications (must be attached upon submittal)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience, including:
  • 1 full year of stepdown experience
  • 1 travel assignment
  • Trauma level II experience
• Recent EPIC charting experience (checkoff class required)
• Social, hardworking, and resilient candidates preferred
