About the role

This is a 13-week contract position for a Step-Down RN. The schedule is night shift: 3x12 hours (19:00 - 07:30), with 36 hours guaranteed.

The Step-Down RN will provide high-quality nursing care to patients with complex medical conditions in a step-down unit. The role involves monitoring patient health, administering medication, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess patient vital signs and neurological status.
• Manage cardiac drips and medications, including emergency medications.
• Provide post-cardiac catheterization care and monitor vascular procedures.
• Utilize advanced respiratory support techniques such as BiPAP and CPAP.
• Conduct frequent cardiovascular assessments and dysrhythmia management.
• Perform IV starts, PICC line management, and blood product administration.
• Adhere to infection prevention protocols and isolation precautions.

Requirements

• 2+ years of recent step-down nursing experience.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.
• Experience with cardiac telemetry and dysrhythmia interpretation.
• Familiarity with Allscripts charting system preferred.

Pay

Pay package is based on 12-hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
