Job Summary

Aya Healthcare has an immediate opening for a Step Down Registered Nurse in Bridgeport, CT. The position offers competitive pay and flexible scheduling options.

Responsibilities

• Manage patient care, including charting and documentation using Epic
• Perform arterial line management, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, central line care/management, and other specialized procedures
• Provide care for patients with conditions such as CVA, feeding tube care and management, heparin protocols, high flow nasal cannula, interpretation of ABGs, interpretation of dysrhythmias, isolation precautions/PPE, IV insulin protocols, aneurysms and repair, continuous bladder irrigation, intracranial bleeds, post MI, TAVR, management of dysrhythmias, nasopharyngeal cannula, non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration, oxygen tanks, pacemakers/temporary/permanent, PCA, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown, peripheral line care/management, phlebotomy, PICC line management, post cardiac angiogram, seizure disorders, spinal cord injury, starting and maintaining IVs, substance withdrawal, telemetry, telemetry - on the unit monitoring, titration of insulin drips, TR band, tracheostomy care/management, traumatic brain injury, use of rapid response/code teams
• Assist with various medical treatments and therapies as needed
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care
• Ensure adherence to infection control protocols and safety guidelines

Requirements

• At least 2 years of nursing experience
• Current CT license or compact license
• Preferred previous charge nurse experience

Qualifications

• NIHSS, ACLS, BLS certifications
• Experience with charting and Epic
