Travel Speech Language Pathologist Acute Care Job
Travel, temporary assignment in Bluefield, Virginia starting on 08/31/2026 for 13 weeks in a skilled nursing setting.
About the role
This position is acute-care oriented within a skilled nursing facility. You’ll work a dayshift pattern of 5 days per week, 08:00–16:30, with guaranteed hours of 35 per week.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations of residents’ speech, language, voice, cognition, and swallowing function.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans aligned with clinical goals and facility policies.
- Provide direct speech-language pathology services, including restorative, compensatory, and maintenance interventions.
- Document progress accurately and ensure timely communication of results to the interdisciplinary team.
- Collaborate with nursing, occupational therapy, physical therapy, dietary, and medical staff to maximize safe swallowing and effective communication.
- Educate residents, families, and care teams on communication strategies, swallowing safety, and discharge planning considerations.
Pay
Weekly pay range: $1,970 to $2,069.
Schedule
- Shift: 5x8 Days (dayshift).
- Guaranteed hours: 35 per week.
- Contract duration: 13 weeks.
