Level II Trauma Center, Level III NICU, Level III Maternity, Comprehensive Stroke Center, Tertiary Access Hospital, Geriatric Accredited Center, Beds: 167, Unit Information: Beds: 20 beds, Census: 14-16.
Responsibilities
SLP involved with infants less than 36 weeks, patient types include premature 36 weeks, any infant feeding disorder, congenital disorders, Craniofacial abnormalities, RDS, Cardiac conditions.
Requirements
- Minimum Years of Experience required: 3 years plus 1 year NICU
- Required License, National Certification, Certs: BLSCCC certification through ASHA, Advanced training in infant feeding, Certified neonate therapist (preferred)
- Skills required: General speech therapy in the NICU, feeding therapy for fragile feeders, Strong communication, collaborative, working with an interdisciplinary team, Preemie neuro assessment, Experience with Bayley 4 preferred
Support and Environment
Support within the Department: Nurses, Other speech therapist, OT team, Provider on site always, Technology/Equipment: EMR: EPIC, Unit specific equipment: infant video/ FEES is a bonus.
Unit Culture: dedicated NICU office, collaborative team, integrated NICU with Providers, therapists and the multidisciplinary team, on campus workout facility.
Schedule and Logistics
Scheduling: Weekend rotation: M-F position, On call: No call, no weekends, Holiday Expectations: no holidays, Shift times: 8-430, 730-4, Schedule cycle: M-F.
Orientation (facility and unit): Up to 5 days, Parking: Free, Scrub Color: no color preference, hospital provided scrubs available.
