Travel Social Worker Medical Social Worker Job

Travel assignment in an inpatient medical setting in Vallejo, CA, starting 08/31/2026 for 13 weeks. 40 hours per week on days (8-hour shifts).

About the role

This assignment supports clinical psychosocial services across the patient population, neonate to geriatric, in an acute-care inpatient environment as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Render clinical psychosocial services to patients and families of all ages (neonate to geriatric) in the inpatient setting.
• Assess patients’ psychosocial needs and coordinate referrals to appropriate facilities or community agencies.
• Provide crisis intervention and bereavement counseling as part of comprehensive patient care.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to support discharge planning, care coordination, and patient advocacy.
• Document assessments, plans, and interventions in the medical record per policy and standards.

Requirements

• Ability to provide psychosocial assessments and crisis intervention in an inpatient medical setting.
• Experience rendering psychosocial services and making referrals to facilities or community resources.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
• Eligible for a travel assignment in California and available to commit to a 13-week contract starting on 08/31/2026.

Pay

Weekly pay range: $2,314–$2,412.
