About the role

ACT (Access to Collaborative Treatment) is a model of care where primary care providers and mental health providers collaborate to deliver effective services for mental and emotional disturbances such as trauma, depression, and anxiety. The ACT Clinician uses a trauma-informed, strengths-based, and person-centered approach, employing evidence-based interventions like Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Motivational Interviewing.

The role involves educating clients about mental health concerns, enhancing their capacity to address their own needs, and providing screening, crisis intervention, short-term therapy, and referrals. The ACT Program Manager also supervises ACT clinicians, manages their time in the Kronos system, and attends Outpatient Clinic and interdepartmental meetings to foster collaboration and ensure ethical, appropriate, and effective care.

Responsibilities

• Provide screening, crisis intervention, short-term therapy, and referrals for clients.
• Educate clients about mental health concerns and evidence-based interventions.
• Enhance clients' capacity to address their own needs using a trauma-informed, strengths-based approach.
• Supervise ACT clinicians, ensuring they provide ethical, appropriate, and effective services.
• Manage clinician time in the Kronos timekeeping system.
• Attend Outpatient Clinic and interdepartmental meetings to encourage collaboration among disciplines.
• Monitor ACT services and update treatment approaches to reflect current philosophies and population needs.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in a human services-related field (e.g., social work, counseling, marriage and family therapy, or psychology).
• Preference for three (3) years of sobriety if in recovery.
• Completed clinical practicum as part of the Master’s degree.
• Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in a relevant setting.
• Experience and proficiency in clinical/therapeutic settings, including assessments, crisis intervention, and creating therapeutic goals and treatment plans.
• Clinical supervisory experience preferred.
• Appropriate State of Alaska licensure for licensed clinical social work or licensed professional counselor within 6 months of hire.
• Basic computer knowledge and ability to use standard office equipment.

Pay

Pay package is based on 8-hour shifts and 40 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.

Schedule

• 40 hours per week.
• 8-hour night shifts.
• First week may not include guaranteed hours due to orientation starting mid-week.
