Travel Social Work - Master of Social Work - $2,000 per week

Travel position in Bethel, Alaska.

About the role

Uses a holistic approach in provision of medical social services to YKDRH patients and their families to assist in solving or ameliorating physical, social, emotional, and/or environmental problems which retard or prevent patients from attaining or retaining optimum health. Social services are provided to people of all ages, from intra-uterine through elderly.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical social services to patients and families
• Address physical, social, emotional, and environmental challenges impacting health
• Work with individuals of all ages, from prenatal to elderly
• Read, comprehend, and write at the college level
• Effectively present information in one-on-one and group settings to patients, clients, agencies, communities, and other employees
• Perform basic mathematical operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, rates, ratios, percentages, interpreting bar graphs)
• Perform supervisory tasks when supervisor is away
• Work independently and collaboratively with other social workers

Requirements

• MSW (Master of Social Work) from an accredited school of Social Work
• One (1) year experience in hospital or health-care setting
• State of Alaska license at Master’s level (LMSW) required
• Valid Alaska State driver’s license
• Basic knowledge of computer use
• Prefer experience working in cross-cultural setting with bilingual language skills in English & Yup'ik

Schedule

• 13-week assignment
• Start date: ASAP
• 36 hours per week
• 12-hour day shifts
