Travel Senior Project Manager - Mission Critical

Summary

The Senior Project Manager leads individual projects of larger size or greater complexity, supervising other Project Managers and providing guidance to Project Teams. Key responsibilities include championing "The Layton Way," ensuring "Constructing with Integrity," managing project costs and profits, and overseeing project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Champions “The Layton Way” by delivering predictable outcomes for internal teams, external teams, and customers.
• Ensures adherence to Contract Documents and exceeds Owner expectations.
• Works well with Layton’s “Two in the Box” application, collaborating with the Senior Superintendent for successful project delivery and client relationships.
• Supervises Project Teams, offering advice and counsel on project management techniques and company culture.
• Is directly responsible for projected costs and profits for each assigned project.
• Prepares project estimates, assists in contract negotiations, and prepares project budgets.
• Led the project team in developing the Project Management Plan (PMP).
• Manages project materials and equipment procurement within budget and schedule constraints.
• Maintains regular site visits, monitoring project progress, and resolving issues.
• Negotiates change orders and manages cost and profit impacts.
• Controls job cost payments and ensures lien releases.
• Coordinates final close-out procedures, including as-built drawings, punch lists, final billing, and owner acceptance.
• Holds post-completion project reviews and provides data for marketing databases.
• Participates in 11-month warranty walks-through with the owner and maintains positive client relations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field, or equivalent education and experience.
• Minimum of eight years project management experience in mission-critical construction projects.
• Strong ability to manage complex projects.
• Effective teamwork and delegation skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and problem-solving abilities.
• Understanding of estimating concepts, contractual language, and construction laws.
• Knowledge of building codes and design requirements.
• Integrity and adherence to ethical standards.
