Summary
The Senior Project Manager leads large or complex projects, supervising teams and ensuring project success. They also provide guidance and negotiate contracts.
Responsibilities
- Champions “The Layton Way” and ensures “Constructing with Integrity” is delivered.
- Works closely with the Senior Superintendent to deliver successful project delivery and maintain client relationships.
- Supervises Project Teams, offering advice and counsel on project management techniques and adherence to plan specifications.
- Is directly responsible for projected costs and profits for each assigned project.
- Prepares project budgets, schedules, and manages project materials and equipment procurement.
- Manages project site visits, monitors progress, negotiates change orders, and oversees final close-out procedures.
- Participates in warranty walks-through and maintains client relations post-completion.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field, or equivalent education and experience.
- Minimum of eight years project management experience in mission-critical construction projects.
- Strong ability to manage complex projects and effective teamwork skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication, presentation, and problem-solving abilities.
- Understanding of estimating concepts, contractual language, and construction laws.
- Knowledge of building codes and design requirements.
- Excellent negotiation skills and at least one year experience in contract negotiations.
- Integrity and adherence to ethical standards.
