Travel RRT - NICU - $2,192 per week

About the role

Focus Staff is seeking a traveling Certified Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a NICU assignment in Charlottesville, Virginia. As a member of the Respiratory Team, you will develop and ensure the patient plan of care in collaboration with physicians, registered nurses, and other therapists. This is a 13‑week crisis‑rate contract with 3×12‑hour day shifts. Pay depends on location and experience; a competitive package including tax‑free stipends is offered.

Responsibilities

• Evaluating patients and recommending treatment plans
• Providing respiratory care to patients with critical and complex medical and surgical conditions
• Performing insertion and removal of endotracheal tubes
• Performing timely and accurate documentation
• Promoting continuous quality improvement
• Teaching and counseling patients and families

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Respiratory Therapist
• Current CPR or BCLS certification (BCLS, ACLS, PALS, NALS, or NRP preferred)
• Excellent communication skills with staff, physicians, patients, and families
• At least 2 years of relevant work experience
• Phenomenal efficiency, attention to detail, strong knowledge of procedures and patient safety
• Compassionate and sensitive approach to patient care

Pay

Competitive pay package based on 12‑hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax‑free stipend amount to be determined. Exact rate varies by location and experience; ask your recruiter about crisis‑rate eligibility.
