About the role

Seeking a travel RN specialized in the Operating Room (OR) to assist in surgical procedures, provide patient care, and support medical staff. Responsibilities include preparing instruments, monitoring patients during surgery, managing specimens, and assisting physicians as a first assistant if needed. The role involves patient education, medication administration, and ensuring safety protocols are followed. Additional duties vary based on the specific OR role, such as circulating nurse, scrub nurse, or RN first assistant.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and staff in surgical care and patient management.
• Prepare and handle surgical instruments and supplies.
• Monitor patient safety and comfort, respond to complications.
• Administer medications, record treatments, and educate patients and families.
• Perform specimen handling, equipment monitoring, and inventory management.
• Support RN first assistant tasks like controlling bleeding and suturing.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years recent acute care experience as circulating nurse, scrub nurse, or RN first assistant.
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS (additional may be required).
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 50 pounds, and work in a clinical environment with potential exposure hazards.
