Travel RN Medical/Surgical - $2,720 per week

About the role

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a 13‑week assignment in Wichita, Kansas. The position requires 48 hours per week on 12‑hour night shifts and is an immediate opening. Candidates should have 1‑2 years of recent acute care experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre‑ and post‑op patients.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepare equipment and assist the physician during examination and treatment of patients.
• Educate patients on surgical procedures.
• Participate in discharge planning and initiate patient education plans as prescribed by the physician.
• Stand and walk for long periods, bend, lean and stoop without difficulty.
• Lift up to 20 pounds routinely; patient moving/lifting may require up to 50 pounds.
• Work in a fast‑paced environment treating patients who may be confused, agitated, and/or uncooperative.

Requirements

• Current BLS certification.
• Current NIH certification.
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience (1‑2 years preferred).
• Additional certifications may be required before starting the assignment.

Schedule

• Duration: 13 weeks
• Hours: 48 hours per week
• Shift: 12‑hour nights
