Travel RN Med Surg Orthopedic - $2,410 per week

About the role

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a 13‑week assignment in Saint Louis, Missouri. The position requires 48 hours per week on 12‑hour night shifts. Candidates should have 1‑2 years of recent acute care experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient assessments and prioritize data collection based on patients' immediate conditions or needs.
• Perform ongoing assessments and appropriate treatments as ordered by a physician.
• Document patient findings and provide education and support to patients' families.
• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre‑ and post‑op patients.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepare equipment and assist the physician during examination and treatment of patients.
• Educate patients on surgical procedures.
• Participate in discharge planning and initiate patient education plans as prescribed by the physician.
• Stand and walk for long periods, bend, lean and stoop without difficulty.
• Easily lift 20 pounds; moving or lifting patients may require up to 50 pounds.
• Work in a fast‑paced environment treating patients that may be confused, agitated, and/or uncooperative.

Requirements

• BLS certification.
• 1‑2 years of recent acute care experience (minimum 1 year).
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning the assignment.

Schedule

Shift: 12 hours, nights; 48 hours per week; 13‑week assignment.
