Tailored Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Room (ER) at Magnet Medical provides critical care to patients in urgent or emergent conditions. This position requires a 13-week commitment starting August 10, 2026, working 36 hours per week on a 12-hour shift schedule.

  • Triage and Patient Assessment: Perform initial assessments, triage based on condition severity, evaluate patient history, conduct physical assessments, and identify urgent health issues.
  • Emergency Care and Treatment: Administer medications, fluids, and treatments, perform wound care, splinting, suturing, and other interventions, provide emergency life-saving interventions, manage ventilators, intubation, and defibrillation.
  • Collaboration with Medical Team: Work with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other team members to develop and implement patient care plans, assist with diagnostic testing, communicate with the healthcare team, document patient assessments and outcomes.
  • Monitoring and Documentation: Continuously monitor patients, document assessments, treatments, and outcomes in the EHR, ensure compliance with standards.
  • Patient and Family Communication: Provide clear explanations, offer emotional support, advocate for patients, coordinate care with other departments, educate patients on preventive measures and care after discharge.
  • Infection Control and Safety: Follow infection control protocols, ensure ER safety and sterility, respond to biohazardous situations with proper precautions.
  • Crisis Management: Handle emergencies, manage high-stress situations, prioritize care based on patient acuity and available resources.
  • Patient Discharge and Follow-Up: Provide discharge instructions, explain next steps in care, educate patients on preventive measures and care after discharge.
  • Teamwork and Mentorship: Collaborate with emergency room staff, act as a mentor or preceptor for new nurses, students, and less experienced staff members.

Benefits

Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
