About the role
Responsible for providing comprehensive perioperative patient care, ensuring safety, comfort, and infection control during surgical procedures.
Responsibilities
- Prepare the operating room with necessary instruments, equipment, and supplies
- Assist in patient positioning and preparation for surgery
- Maintain sterile fields and follow infection control protocols
- Support the surgical team by providing instruments and supplies promptly
- Monitor patient conditions during surgery and document changes
- Handle specimen collection, labeling, and transport
- Document all patient care activities accurately
- Participate in patient handoffs and ensure continuity of care
- Assist in cleaning and restocking the OR between cases
- Adhere to hospital safety, PPE, and infection prevention procedures
Qualifications & Skills
- Recent one-year experience as an OR RN
- Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
- Preferred: ACLS, PALS, ENPC certifications, or CNOR
- Critical thinking, excellent communication, and interpersonal skills
- Physical ability to move and lift equipment (50-100 lbs)
- Proficiency in reading, writing, PC skills, and working under pressure
