Travel Respiratory Therapist - NICU - $2,946 per week

American Traveler is seeking a NICU Respiratory Therapist for a children's hospital day shift position requiring Level IV NICU experience and RRT certification. The assignment begins Oct 26, 2026, lasts 13 weeks, involves 48 hours per week, and has one opening.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care to critically ill neonatal and pediatric patients in a Level IV NICU setting
• Assist with high‑risk deliveries and neonatal inter‑departmental transports
• Work as part of a pediatric critical care and respiratory therapy team
• Perform airway management including intubation assist, extubation, and tracheostomy care
• Deliver medication via aerosol, MDI, and nebulizer systems
• Manage ventilators including CPAP, oscillating and high‑frequency jet ventilators, and high‑flow nasal cannula
• Interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs)

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of NICU and PICU experience required; Level IV NICU experience required
• Cardiac PICU experience preferred
• BSN preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• RRT, BLS, and NRP certifications required; PALS and ACCS preferred
• VA state license required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Ability to interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs)
• Skilled in ventilator management
