Travel Respiratory Therapist, NICU - $2,203 per week

About the role

American Traveler is seeking a travel Pediatric Respiratory Therapist (NICU RT) for a 13‑week assignment in Charlottesville, Virginia. The role is a night‑shift position (3×12‑hour shifts, 7 PM–7 AM) in a Level 4 NICU at a children’s hospital that also supports Pediatric Critical Care. Epic experience is required. The assignment begins October 26, 2026, with 36 hours per week (48 hours available) and requires every other weekend and holiday.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care to neonatal and pediatric patients in a critical care setting
• Assist with high‑risk deliveries and neonatal transports as part of the care team
• Perform pulmonary hygiene, airway management, and ventilator management duties
• Administer medications via nebulizer, MDI, and other delivery systems
• Float within scope of practice as needed
• Note: time off around Christmas cannot be accommodated

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of NICU and PICU experience (PICU Cardiac experience preferred)
• Level 4 NICU experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• RRT, BLS, and NRP certifications required; PALS preferred
• VA state license required
• ACCS certification preferred
• BSN preferred
