Registered Respiratory Therapist Location Berkeley
Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position. Schedule 12-hour days, weekends and holidays as scheduled.

Job Description:

The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) will provide high-quality respiratory care in a fast-paced clinical environment. This role requires expertise in airway management, mechanical ventilation, and advanced life support for a variety of patient populations, including adults, pediatrics, and neonates.

• Assess patients' respiratory conditions and recommend appropriate treatments.
• Administer oxygen therapy, mechanical ventilation, and other respiratory treatments as per physician orders.
• Manage and maintain respiratory equipment and ensure optimal functioning.
• Perform intubations and manage advanced airway interventions independently.
• Conduct assessments for ABGs and other diagnostics as necessary.
• Participate in patient education and provide emotional support to patients and families.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license; Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) license acceptable if held prior to July 1, 2022.
• Certification in ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NRP required.
• Previous experience in a Level 2-3 NICU setting is preferred.
• Must be able to intubate independently for adult patients.
• Experience with a variety of mechanical ventilation systems such as Servo U, Hamilton G5, and Philips Respironics V60.
