About the Role
A Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) provides respiratory care and support for patients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions.
Responsibilities
- Assist in treatment plan implementation under physician or RRT guidance
- Examine and interview patients with respiratory or cardiopulmonary issues
- Perform diagnostics like lung capacity tests and sample collection
- Administer treatments such as oxygen therapy and aerosol medications
- Set up, monitor, and ensure proper functioning of respiratory equipment
- Record patient progress and educate on medication and device use
- Perform additional duties within scope of practice
Requirements
- One year of recent CRT experience
- CRT credential from NBRC and valid state license
- Current BLS certification
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Physical ability to move equipment and remain stationary as needed
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and PC skills
- Ability to work under pressure, follow instructions, and handle irregular schedules
- Visual acuity and effective communication abilities
