The position is an immediate travel opening requiring a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) with 1 year of recent acute care experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to patients in a variety of clinical areas, including evaluations and treatments according to procedural guidelines.
• Administer to patients a variety of simple and complex respiratory and cardiology modalities.
• Maintain appropriate patient records/documentation.
• Clean, disinfect, assemble, calibrate, maintain respiratory and cardiology equipment and accessories.
• Evaluate equipment for proper and safe function; report malfunctions to director.
• Perform arterial puncture and analyze sample according to procedure guidelines.
• Interact with co-workers, nurses, physicians, other hospital personnel to optimize continuum of care for patient being treated.
• Respond to emergent situations that could require respiratory support.

Requirements

• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential (NBRC‑CRT).
• Current BLS certification.
• Current ACLS certification.
• PALS and NRP may be required depending on assignment area.
• Minimum 1 year of recent acute care experience (some references note 2 years; both are stated).
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods; bend, lean, or stoop without difficulty.
• Ability to lift 20 pounds routinely; moving or lifting patients may require up to 50 pounds.
• Vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus.
