Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with trauma experience for a night shift position at a Level 2 trauma center with a Level 3 NICU, serving an infant-to-geriatric patient population.

Details:

  • Level 2 trauma center that is interventional stroke certified and home to a Level 3 NICU that serves as a regional transport resource
  • Primarily adult RRT scope, with exposure to pediatric intubated patients and infants through geriatric population
  • Responsibilities include managing non-invasive and conventional ventilation, aerosol therapy, bedside pulmonary function tests, oxygen management, arterial line placement, arterial blood gas (ABG) and capillary blood gas draws, and patient education
  • EMR system: Epic; additional systems include Pyxis, SBAR, Viasys Vela, GE Carescape, and Viasys Avea

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of respiratory therapy experience
  • Trauma experience required
  • Pulmonary function testing (spirometry) experience preferred
  • Active Georgia RRT license required if applicable
  • Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS
  • Copies of all required certifications required for consideration

Additional Information

  • First-time travelers are accepted for this position
  • Local candidates are accepted
  • Scrub color: Slate Gray
  • RTO maximum is 7 days; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment
  • If one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work all of them with no holiday RTO
  • If three major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work two; one holiday RTO request may be submitted for review
  • Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
  • Travelers who have previously worked at any Piedmont facility must have been away for a full year before returning as a traveler
  • No schedule change requests or alternate shift requests will be considered — the posted night shift is firm

Pay Package

Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 48 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
