TotalMed Allied is seeking a travel Registered Respiratory Therapist for a 13‑week assignment in Bridgeport, Connecticut. The position requires 36 hours per week on 12‑hour night shifts. The ideal candidate should have at least one year of recent acute‑care experience. Job ID: 1509635.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care, including evaluations and treatments according to procedural guidelines.
• Administer simple and complex respiratory and cardiology modalities.
• Maintain appropriate patient records and documentation.
• Clean, disinfect, assemble, calibrate, and maintain respiratory and cardiology equipment and accessories.
• Evaluate equipment for proper and safe function; report malfunctions to the director.
• Perform arterial puncture and analyze samples per procedure guidelines.
• Interact with co‑workers, nurses, physicians, and other hospital personnel to optimize the continuum of care.
• Respond to emergent situations that may require respiratory support.

Requirements

• Current BLS certification; ACLS required (PALS and NRP may be needed in some areas).
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
• Minimum of one year of recent acute‑care experience (some references note two years).
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods; bend, lean, or stoop without difficulty.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds routinely, with occasional patient‑handling lifts up to 50 pounds.
• Visual abilities: close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

Pay

Pay package is based on 12‑hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax‑free stipend amount to be determined.
