Travel Registered Respiratory Therapist - $2,230 per week

TotalMed Allied, a Top Ten travel nursing and healthcare staffing agency, is seeking a travel Registered Respiratory Therapist for an immediate 13‑week assignment in Juneau, Alaska. The role requires 36 hours per week on 12‑hour rotating shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care, including evaluations and treatments according to procedural guidelines.
• Administer a variety of simple and complex respiratory and cardiology modalities.
• Maintain appropriate patient records and documentation.
• Clean, disinfect, assemble, calibrate, maintain respiratory and cardiology equipment and accessories; evaluate equipment for proper and safe function and report malfunctions.
• Perform arterial puncture and analyze samples per procedure guidelines.
• Interact with co‑workers, nurses, physicians, and other hospital personnel to optimize continuum of care.
• Respond to emergent situations that may require respiratory support.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of recent acute care experience (posting notes 1.5 years preferred).
• Current BLS and ACLS certification; PALS and NRP may be required depending on assignment.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, bend, lean, or stoop without difficulty.
• Ability to lift 20 lbs routinely; patient handling may require lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Visual abilities: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
