This position involves providing respiratory care in various clinical settings, including inpatient units, emergency room, outpatient services, and rehabilitation departments. The role requires performing breathing treatments, arterial blood gases, capillary sticks for I-Stats, and managing respiratory equipment, with an emphasis on ensuring effective patient care and safety.

Responsibilities

• Perform floor duties such as breathing treatments, ABG draws, capillary sticks, and respiratory equipment management, including ventilators and high flow devices
• Assist with intubations in a setting supported by hospitalist or intensivist staff available 24/7
• Wear teal scrubs or acceptable scrub patterned shirts
• Complete orientation of 1-3 shifts with a preceptor, as needed
• Work under supervisor/director oversight, with charge RTs managing shifts

Requirements

• Certification as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
• Valid state licensure
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• ACLS certification
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in respiratory therapy (preferred)
• Valid driver's license
• Meet licensing hits disclosure at the time of submission

Schedule

12-hour night shifts, working 36 hours per week on a 4-week rotation schedule. Shifts are from 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM or mid-shift from 2:15 PM to 10:45 PM, with weekend and holiday requirements.

Pay

Pay package is based on 12-hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
