Travel Registered Respiratory Therapist - $1,739 per week

About the role

Travel Registered Respiratory Therapist position in Columbia, South Carolina. Duration: 13 weeks. 36 hours per week on 12‑hour night shifts. Immediate opening for a Respiratory Care professional with at least 1 year of recent acute care experience. The therapist will provide direct patient care across a variety of clinical areas, performing evaluations and treatments according to procedural guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Administer a variety of simple and complex respiratory and cardiology modalities to patients
• Maintain appropriate patient records and documentation
• Clean, disinfect, assemble, calibrate, and maintain respiratory and cardiology equipment and accessories
• Evaluate equipment for proper and safe function; report malfunctions to the director
• Perform arterial puncture and analyze samples according to procedure guidelines
• Interact with co‑workers, nurses, physicians, and other hospital personnel to optimize continuum of care
• Respond to emergent situations requiring respiratory support

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of recent acute care experience (posting also notes a 3‑year requirement in the formal requirements list)
• NBRC credential (RRT)
• BLS certification
• ACLS certification
• PALS and NRP may be required in some areas
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment
• Physical demands: ability to stand and walk for long periods; bend, lean, or stoop without difficulty; easily lift 20 pounds; occasionally lift or move patients up to 50 pounds
• Vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

Pay

Pay package is based on 12‑hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax‑free stipend amount to be determined.
