Travel Registered Respiratory Therapist - $1,641 per week

TotalMed Allied is seeking a travel Registered Respiratory Therapist for a travel job in Wytheville, Virginia. The position is for 13 weeks, 36 hours per week, 12‑hour night shifts. Immediate opening for an Allied Health Professional with recent acute care experience.

Responsibilities

• Administer to patients a variety of simple and complex respiratory and cardiology modalities.
• Maintain appropriate patient records/documentation.
• Clean, disinfect, assemble, calibrate, maintain respiratory and cardiology equipment and accessories.
• Evaluate equipment for proper and safe function.
• Report malfunctions to the director.
• Perform arterial puncture and analyze sample according to procedure guidelines.
• Interact with co‑workers, nurses, physicians, and other hospital personnel to optimize continuum of care for the patient being treated.
• Respond to emergent situations that could require respiratory support.
• Stand and walk for long periods; bend, lean, or stoop without difficulty.
• Easily lift 20 pounds; moving or lifting patients may require up to 50 pounds.
• Possess specific vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of recent acute care experience (some notes indicate 2 years may be preferred).
• Current BLS and ACLS certification.
• NBRC credential (RRT).
• PALS and NRP may be required depending on the assignment.
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning the assignment.

Pay

Pay package is based on 12‑hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax‑free stipend amount to be determined.
