Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for antepartum patients, laboring patients through childbirth, recovery, and postpartum, plus lactation education and assistance; support well newborn care and Level 2 Nursery in a family-centered approach
• Manage daily patient flow to optimize safety, outcomes, and patient satisfaction; triage incoming requests for services and coordinate care with the care team
• Deliver patient education to inform care plans, promote informed healthcare choices, and support wellness goals; advocate for safety and preferences through Relationship-Based Care
• Delegate tasks appropriately and in accordance with Colorado statute; perform competent assessments, prioritization, and critical thinking in fast-paced obstetric settings
• Administer medications, perform treatments, and assist in procedures while consistently following patient safety guidelines; respond to high telephone volumes for medications and information
• Collaborate with physicians, hospital teams, and ancillary services to achieve high-quality care and seamless transitions; maintain HIPAA compliance and demonstrate Just Culture and organizational values

Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license in Colorado or a valid compact state
• Basic Life Support (BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP), and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required
• Minimum of Associate Nursing Degree for positions hired after 07/01/2018
• At least 1 year of clinical nursing experience
• Able to work in antepartum, labor/delivery, recovery, postpartum, Level 2 Nursery, and well newborn care settings; able to provide family-centered care
• Able to work a rotating shift and participate in a travel assignment
• CAPS registration may be required for out-of-state agencies and may take up to two weeks to obtain
