Overview

Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery (L&D) in Brattleboro, Vermont, starting 08/03/2026 for 13 weeks. Weekly pay ranges from $2,482 to $2,512 per week, with guaranteed hours of 36 per week. Shift: 3x12 Nights. Work setting is a hospital-based Birthing Center, a level 1 low-risk birth unit with single-room maternity care, caring for obstetrical patients and newborns within inpatient or outpatient status.

Responsibilities

  • Assess health status of individuals and groups, establish nursing diagnoses, plan goals, and implement the plan of care; document responses to interventions
  • Provide labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn care; monitor fetal status; assist with cesarean births and epidurals as part of intrapartum management
  • Perform or assist with venipuncture, manage IV therapy, and support newborn stabilization and normal newborn care
  • Maintain accurate electronic charting and documentation; participate in care planning and care coordination with the multidisciplinary team
  • Support family-centered care and Orem’s self-care framework; collaborate with anesthesia, neonatal staff, and other disciplines to ensure safety and quality outcomes
  • Respond to obstetric emergencies and provide ongoing education and emotional support to patients and families

Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse license in the State of Vermont (required)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required)
  • 1+ year of current LDRP experience (required); 400+ deliveries per year preferred
  • Ability to work in a Birthing Center setting; experience with obstetrical patients including antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum
  • Experience with C-sections, epidurals, electronic charting, and venipuncture (preferred)
  • AFM, NRP, and STABLE certifications (highly preferred; can be obtained during onboarding)
  • Resume and a skills checklist (within the last year) plus 2 supervisory references from the last 2 years (required)
  • Travel experience strongly preferred
