Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care for adults and geriatric patients in the Interventional Radiology/procedural unit
  • Monitor patients during IR procedures and procedural sedation; identify and respond to dysrhythmias and changing clinical status
  • Administer medications and monitor patient response, vitals, and sedation levels; ensure patient safety and comfort
  • Assist with and/or perform IR procedures from the unit list (CT-guided biopsy, fistulograms, GJ-tube placement, lower-extremity angiograms, paracentesis, thoracentesis, Y-90) as directed by the IR team
  • Chart thoroughly in EPIC; coordinate care with IV team, Radiology, Pharmacy, PT/OT, Respiratory, Social Services, Transport, and Unit Secretary
  • Maintain 1:1 patient monitoring when required, escalate promptly, and participate in handoffs and discharge planning as appropriate

Requirements

  • Active RN license and ability to practice in the listed setting
  • ICU-level assessment and monitoring skills (hard stop)
  • Certifications: BLS and ACLS required
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year RN experience; 3–5 years preferred; travel experience required
  • Unit experience: Interventional Radiology or procedural nursing experience preferred
  • Special requirements: EPIC charting experience; pre-start modules required (average ~16 hours) and completed prior to start
  • Travel eligibility: First-time travelers not accepted
