Travel Registered Nurse - Intermediate Care - $3,203 per week

About the role

TotalMed is seeking a travel nurse RN Intermediate Care for a travel nursing job in Wausau, Wisconsin. Unit is an 8-bed Short Stay PCU / Observation unit with average patient stay up to 48 hours and high volume of admissions and discharges. Patient ratio is 1:4.

Required qualifications

• WI RN License
• BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
• ACLS certification (AHA or ARC) – required
• Minimum 3 years of experience
• At least 1 prior travel assignment
• Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips
• Must pass EKG exam during compliance
• EPIC charting experience required

Preferred qualifications

• NIHSS certification (highly preferred)
• Background in observation units or MS/Tele units
• Experience with drips: Cardizem, Nitro, Insulin, Heparin

Unit details & patient population

• Conditions commonly treated: Anemia, Cellulitis, COPD, Dehydration, pre- and post-op Urology and GI
• Desired skillset: hard worker, resilient, adapts well to change, socially adept, able to manage independently and complete tasks timely, willingness to ask questions and collaborate with team and ancillary staff, positive attitude and flexibility with constant changes throughout a shift

Schedule & shift requirements

• Start: ASAP
• Duration: 13 weeks
• 48 hours per week
• 12-hour night shifts
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Float to all inpatient units as needed (IMC and CTU units)
• Contract eligible for 36 hours of low census unbillable hours – may be low-censused in hour increments (typically 4-hour increments); may be asked to work only 4 or 8 hours of a shift – not considered call-back
