Travel Registered Nurse - Correctional - $2,110 per week

VyTalent Solutions supports healthcare professionals with opportunities designed to meet today’s workforce needs. We’re currently looking for a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide care in a secure juvenile detention center.

About the role

This is a 13-week travel contract at a juvenile detention facility in Hertford, NC. The role requires significant independence, as the nurse will serve as the sole on-site provider for portions of the shift.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care within a secure juvenile justice environment, following established medical protocols
• Function independently as the facility’s on-site nurse for portions of the shift while coordinating with available support resources
• Collaborate closely with direct care staff to support safe, effective care for juveniles in custody
• Communicate clearly with Central Office Health Services staff and participate in scheduled calls as needed
• Document and coordinate care using basic computer systems and communication tools such as Microsoft Teams or WebEx

Requirements

• Experience in adolescent, pediatric, school, public health, correctional/juvenile, and/or emergency nursing
• Comfortable working within a secure juvenile justice environment
• Ability to follow established medical protocols
• Familiarity with Microsoft Teams or WebEx; basic computer proficiency

Pay

$2,067.20 – $2,170.56 per week

Schedule

40 hours per week, Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (8-hour day shift)
