Travel Radiology Technologist - $2,900 per week

About the role
The Multimodality Tech performs a combination of Radiographic Imaging procedures on ambulatory and hospital patients in physician offices, clinics, and/or hospital settings as requested by a Physician or other licensed Provider. This role operates under the general supervision of a Radiologist to diagnose disease and injury, following established protocols. The Technologist explains procedures to patients, ensures their comfort, and provides care while obtaining diagnostic-quality images for Radiologist interpretation.
Responsibilities
- Accurately order tests from outpatient orders; fax reports (EMR and manual), scan orders and reports, and enter diagnosis codes into EMR; obtain signed ABNs when necessary.
- Ensure correct patient identity using two patient identifiers.
- Perform tests within standardized time frames; check most images for technical quality before releasing the patient; ensure documentation is accurate and complete.
- Explain procedures to patients and/or families, address questions, and provide reassurance to gain cooperation.
- Assess work needs and complete tasks by priority in the assigned work area.
- Maintain safe and up-to-date knowledge of all imaging equipment; follow standard precautions, use equipment safely, and practice radiation safety.
- Complete routine daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning; maintain department equipment, assist with calibration, and ensure proper documentation.
- Perform duties in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces healthcare errors; use established hand-off communication protocols.
- Review department inventory and maintain appropriate supply levels.
- Demonstrate flexibility in work schedules.
- Comply with all established safety procedures to ensure a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
- Participate in performance improvement activities.
Requirements
- Current ARRT (R) certification (required).
- Current IEMA Radiography certification (required).
- BLS certification (required).
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Radiography, Mammography, CT scanning, and operative C-arm procedures (preferred).
- Strong computer skills with the ability to navigate EMR programs.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and complete them in a timely manner.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Schedule
- Shift: 8 hours, evenings.
