Travel Radiology Technician position in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

About the role

This role involves performing general diagnostic radiology procedures, ensuring adherence to departmental protocols, and maintaining proper documentation and image quality. The position requires a thorough understanding of radiographic techniques and patient safety practices to support high-quality imaging services within the healthcare organization.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general diagnostic radiology procedures
  • Maintain adherence to departmental protocols and proper documentation
  • Ensure image quality and patient safety
  • Demonstrate proficiency in portable equipment and troubleshoot work unit issues related to imaging protocols and equipment
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety in the work environment
  • Verify patient identity and history, assess physical condition, and respond to emergency situations
  • Utilize RIS, HIS, PACS, and SMS systems effectively for documenting and accessing procedure information
  • Assist in educating patients and colleagues
  • Ensure images are transmitted successfully to PACS
  • Maintain all equipment properly

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree from an accredited Radiologic Sciences Program
  • ARRT Certification in Radiography
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification, valid in North Carolina
  • Ongoing registry status and continuing education as per certification requirements

Schedule

  • Days shift, 12 hours per shift
  • Minimum of 36 hours per week
  • 13 weeks duration, starting 08/31/2026
